National 5M mine hose is a polyester single jacket hose with a Neoprene rubber liner that resists burning inherently better than exclusively hydrocarbon rubber. This is why MSHA has seen fit to approve (USMSHA 2G-15/1) this hose for use in mines along with brass couplings that are non-sparking. 5M hose is woven with a very
tight weave to help prevent the abrasion that can be attributed to this
environment while also helping to prevent kinking typically associated
with cheaper hoses. The hose can be used to a maximum operating
pressure of 225 psi (1550 kPa).
